Cathy Broadnax, LMFT

Therapist

I am currently a Marriage and Family Therapist at NewDay Recovery Center.

I graduated from Tennessee State University in 1980 with a degree in Psychology. I had a 28 year career in corporate America but never gave up on my dream of being a Therapist. To that end, I enrolled in Indiana Wesleyan University in 2006, In December of 2010 I received my Masters Degree in Counseling with my focus being Marriage and Family Therapy.

My passion is working with couples. I really enjoy Premarital Counseling because I believe it provides couples with a much needed firm foundation for entering into marriage. I also enjoy counseling married couples and helping them to understand oneness with God and with each other. I help them to see the blessing of marriage and not taking for granted the life teammate God has blessed them with.

I also find great joy in working with Senior Citizens. My experience shows that many of them have circumstances in their lives due to aging, change in family dynamics, health struggles, and loss of family and friends. I enjoy helping them to appreciate where they have been and the blessing in what their latter years hold for them.

Lastly, I truly believe my being a therapist is a gift. I also believe that everyone that comes to me is sent by God and it is not coincidence but God’s will for us to work together. So, whatever the circumstance that brings them to me, I know God has prepared me for the privilege of walking their journey with them to mental health healing.
